System 96 is a soft, forgiving glass with a smooth surface, even thickness, long working range and wide margin of error. It is famously easy to cut, the colours are bright and consistent, and it will tolerate multiple firings without a blemish because it was designed to be remelted with resistance to devitrification. No overglaze is necessary.
Though they may look the same as the stained glass products, these fusible glasses are fundamentally different in their basic chemistries: designed to deliver superior stability for glass fusing, slumping and other hot glass pursuits. They can, however, be used just as any other sheet glass in panels, lampshades, foiling, and other non-warm-glass creations.
