A little bit of red goes a long way and small doses can often be more effective than large amounts of this strong colour. Multiple shades of red and even pink or orange can combine for a cheerful palette. Red borders, especially when inset, can look great.

Shades of red can work well with a variety of yellows, blues, greens, and neutrals, especially if you stay aware of their values and for instance with a dark red use a pale or golden yellow. Reds, pinks and greys can look stunning!
